Hammer & Chisel: Day 6

Hellloooo weeekend! Today was especially nice because I was able to sleep in. Normally I get woken up by 4am on Saturdays and Sundays because the fur babies are used to getting up that early on the week days. However, today both of them slept in until 6:30am! It was so nice!!

I got up around 6:30am and decided to get my workout in right away because we had to leave for a training event by 915am. I wanted to take my time getting ready and eating breakfast this morning.

Today’s workout was Chisel Endurance and it was intense. I know I say all these workouts are intense, but they really are in their own individual way! Each work something different and I love that it’s not the same workouts repeating every week. Every day is different and while you repeat workouts, its never on the same day! This is SUPER helpful so your body doesn’t get used to the muscles being worked. It’s called muscle confusion.

Here are a few of the moves that I was dying on!

Run ups on the bench was the first move when I started and it got my heart rate up super fast. Then I had step up lunges were a serious booty burner, but also kept the heart rate up because I was stepping up and holding a weight. I worked both sides of the booty by stepping down normal and stepping behind me. It also worked the hamstrings and quads.
I literally was dying at the end that my dog had to make sure I was still alive haha!

I will definitely need to take my recharge shake tonight to help with my soreness tomorrow! It’s one of the supplements I take to help increase the effectiveness of my workouts. But more on supplements later!

I just want to say that I’m pretty proud of myself for not slipping on my meal plan last night. Since I forgot to post yesterday, I didn’t really expand on it. The weekends are especially hard for me because I don’t have a strict routine like I do when I’m at work. I tend to reward myself for doing good during the week with a cheat meal on the weekends, which turns into a cheat day and sometimes a cheat weekend. So I usually lose all my progress from the week on the weekends.

But, I made a commitment for this program and I am truly going to give it my all! So last night when people came over I had prepared steak, garlic bread, green beans, and mashed potatoes. This is mostly because that’s what our guests wanted to eat. Well, I LOVE BREAD. So for me not to even have one bite of it last night was a little mini success! As I said, I only had green beans and steak!

So with no setbacks last night, I was determined to make Saturday a good day too! It’s a constant day-to-day battle for me. I love eating healthy and I have made it a lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean it’s not hard for me.

Breakfast: 1/4 cup of steel cut oatmeal, 1/2 cup mixed berries, and 2 hard boiled eggs.

Snack 1: 1/2 cup grapes

Lunch: 3/4 cup shredded chicken, 1 cup of mixed veggies

Snack 2: 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, 5 baby carrots, and 12 raw almonds

Snack 3: 1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology, 1/2 banana, 2 tsp. natural peanut butter, dash of cinnamon, 1 cup water, 1 cup ice. Blended together for a shake!

Dinner: 4oz. chicken breast, 1 cup of mixed steamed veggies, 1/2 cup of quinoa

Today was another successful day with no cheats. My hubby wanted to get pizza for lunch and I said ABSOLUTELY NOT! Pizza is like another one of my weaknesses. I love pizza. SO MUCH. That will probably be my first meal the day after I finish this program! So no pizza = no cheats = happy Lauren (sad hubby).
